May 12, 2009: Michel W. Drapeau is appointed as Professor Adjunct, Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa. In recognition of his research, teaching and professional publications, the Board of Governors, University of Ottawa has appointed Michel W. Drapeau as Professor Adjunct, Common Law Section, Faculty of Law. Professor Drapeau may now sit on various Faculty Committees and supervise graduate students in the preparation of their thesis. March 30, 2009: Colonel Michel W. Drapeau testifies before The House of Commons Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics and provides his recommendations concerning the Access to Information Act reform. March 5, 2009: Colonel Michel W. Drapeau testifies before The Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs and provides his recommendations concerning the controversial amendment brought urgently to the National Defence Act in June 2008, which continues to deny an accused before a military tribunal the choice of a jury trial. December 12, 2008: In a unanimous decision, the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada overturned a conviction of assault made by the Court Martial against Master Seaman Brian J. Willms. Colonel Michel W. Drapeau and Zorica Guzina acted as counsel for Master Seaman Willms.
