Commander (ret'd) David J. Statham is the Director, Access to Information and Privacy Services of Drapeau Law Office since its inception in 2004. He also lends his expertise in military, naval and defence matters as well as his experience in access to information and privacy issues to all our clients. From 1996 to 2004 Mr. Statham co-owned and managed Novatip Consulting Inc. which specialized in access to information and privacy matters.
A seaman by profession, Mr. Statham led, from 1959 to 1995, a distinguished career in the Canadian Forces (CF) where he held the rank of Commander. Highlights of his service to our country include:

Commander Statham joined the then Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) in 1959 as a Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP) Officer Cadet and attended the University of New Brunswick and Carleton University. On commissioning in 1963, he served in various HMC Ships and Establishments, mainly with the Atlantic Fleet. As a Naval Operations specialist, he served variously as a ship's Operations Officer, Squadron Operations Officer, Fleet Operations and Command Staff Officer for Operations and Air Control. |
