Colonel-Maître® - Senior Counsel - Founder
Michel served for 34 years in the Regular Force with the Canadian Armed Forces. He retired as the Executive Secretary for the Department of National Defence. Michel established MDLO in 2002 and since that time, the Firm has assisted thousands of serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, military families, police officers and veterans, in dealing with various matters including administrative conflicts, release from service, complaints, and litigation.
Michel is a proud member of the legal community and has taught military law at the University of Ottawa, and has authored several legal texts.
In 2020 Michel was selected by the Ontario Bar Association to receive the Distinguished Service Award for his career contributions to the legal profession. In 2021, he was called to the Barreau du Québec as Canadian Legal Advisor.

Joshua Juneau
Counsel
A member of the MDLO team since 2011, Joshua is an experienced litigator focusing on military law, administrative law and human rights law. His passions are law reform, civil liberties and constitutional compliance. Joshua has appeared before the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, at Courts Martial and before many administrative tribunals.

Nicole Bélanger-Drapeau
Director, Corporate Affairs - Commissioner of Oaths
Nicole completed part of her Dietetic internship at the RCASC school in Camp Borden as a member of the then Canadian Officer Training Corps (COTC), and she was then commissioned in the rank Lieutenant. More than two decades later, Nicole worked at NDHQ as a Class C Reservist, and later worked for 25 years in the Public Service as the Director of the National Combat Rations Programme.
Nicole was awarded the Commemorative Medal for the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II and was also appointed to the Order of Fellow Logisticians by Major-General Terry Hearn, then Branch Advisor of the CF Logistics Branch. Nicole joined MDLO in 2009 as the Director, Corporate Administration.
